I have a megane 2 Went through four accidents in two years, I can say that the car is too strong, when u get out if the car thinking that it's all damaged, it not. As simple as that. The only problem of this car is the finishing. Otherwise it's always a pleasure to look at and to ride. Unlike Japanese or American cars, this one feels alive. The ad is also great.

What nonsense....The Renault is made from "high strength steel"...as opposed to what? All cars are made from cold rolled carbon steel, no different than your washing machine. Furthermore, it is crystal clear there is no engine or anything else under the hood of the Volvo. The engine compartment shown at 2:38 is empty.

@007bondspy I think people expect more refinement from diesels now. I have an old transit with the DI engine in it. It's a really simple engine and cheap and easy to repair and maintain yourself and is very tough and reliable, but for the average modern car driver the levels of noise and vibration from an older diesel like mine would be unacceptable and certainly wouldn't sell well in todays market.

The Renault and most other modern cars are crash tested and designed for safety, a land rover may be bigger, but it is in no way safer. They also perform poorly in stability tests, the center of gravity is much higher. Im a mechanical engineer btw

this video is way biased....the land rover driver was way closer to the wheel than the renault's driver and they showed no footage insade of the land rover during the test and they showed nothing of the kids car seat in the land rover yet they 'claimed' it had worst results and the land rover also had a tech difficulty with the airbags not deploying which would obviously give the driver of it higher impact readings......assholes

I have always been aware on the Disco 1's very poor safety; it scares me so 2 months after buy mine I had a roll cage installed to help improve safety. But for them to do this test was pointless really cause Disco's not common well in Australia that is. I like my disco but real Aussies think other wise. If that was done hear it would be an 80 Series Toyota LandCruiser and it would be able it match the Renault. But for now I we I can do if the series 1's are our choice is to make them stronger!

Never had a Type-R either. The only one the States ever got was the DC2 Acura Integra Type-R that went out of production in 2002. They are so hard to find and fetch stupid prices. I had a 2006 Civic Si and I miss that engine. Still crossing my fingers that the JDM Civic Type-R makes it here. Read the new "Championship White" FN2 had a more controlled ride.

The clio rs 200 is a great hothatch. but after owning a FN2 type r. and an ST i wanted something with less gadgets. as i felt these things hampered the driving. so i opted for the CUP it feels like a diffrent car to the FF 200. it feels alive, very agile, 27 percent stiffer all round which is pretty harsh but not as bad or crashy as the type r. thats because the CUP,s dampers work really well.the interior isn,t as bad as you think. it still feels like a little well made car. crazy fun.

@NorthwesternNL Well you are a fortunate person, here in Australia Renault try hard to achieve popularity but from past experiences and not with myself a lot of people have had many problems with various models, not any particular one but when those people went to have repairs done Renault were hopeless in problem solving and the cost of parts if you could get any were expensive. I believe Citroen have a better repuatation but with a lot of car companies many suffer from customer relations
