@csimi85 190kmh is not likely. 5th gear and doing 125kmh and getting it to rev like its roaring at 6000rpm , means the gears are ridiculously closely spaced, even for a racecar. thats like one gear for every 30kmh. the driver would be like accelerating for half a second, then shifting....thats not very convienient in a race. the stock f1 does 100-200kmh in 6.2s,125-190kmh in 5.5s would be slower than a stock f1. its also illegal to own a speedo that wrongly shows mph instead of kmh.

@xZZxTakedown The SSC is nothing compared to this. It's faster in a straight line but only marginally that's all its got. Add any sort of actual driving to the equation (corners for example) and the McLaren F1 walks all over the Aero. Also the McLaren was a completely original concept designed from scratch, the SSC was built using already tested and tried and used parts.

The Ferrari 458 is an amazing car, it is the best Ferrari production car I think the company has ever made. The looks, the quality and the way it goes and sounds is just amazing. Both cars are remarkable pieces of machinery. The technology that resides within the Veyron is incredible. However, the McLaren represents the more honest car because it's a stick and it requires the driver to be one with the car. I love both cars. Location matters. japan is cold. dhabi is hot. there is no such thing as REAL in the sense. but since the arabians also had a lot of sheiks owning super fast sports cars this is by no means a bad location to conduct tests. turboes work waay less efficently in the heat, even TG mag said it. face it. the mclaren f1 is the fastest accelerating car in the middle east, since all other cars faster than it have turboes.

@MrMotorsportsFanatic the mclaren f1 relies very much on downforce to corner. skidpad performance is no indication of handling at speed, since the skidpad speed is very slow. besides, its not a racing car, the f1 actually means the car's is flagship number one of mclaren, or something, it doesnt mean a formula one. the suspension is set up really soft so that i'll feel comfy as a road car.

The McLaren on the other hand was the fastest car for more than a decade and it is the fastest N/A car . Unlike 1001 hp from 4 turbos. Also it has a futuristic design even though it's from the 90s. The Mclaren F1 for being dubbed as the "ultimate road car" has a poor sense of speed which kills it in my opinion. Grand Prix cars have incredible sense of speed which puts them apart from anything. While the Mclaren F1 has a poor skidpad performance of .86g (disappointing for a "hypercar", even 2 ton Bugatti Veyron can manage .94g.) Makes little sense to dub it the "F1." Lateral acceleration very much is part of the driving experience in my opinion and the Mclaren's isn't very good.

This is why I like Button and Hamilton. For all the cocky, seemingly arrogant facade that is put on for the camera and the sponsers, they both have respect. Respect for the past and for others, respect for the greats. Later on in his career he patented a kind of movie synthetioser that used different blocks to produce specific sounds and this is put to it's fullest in Sinchromy where what you see is what you get; i.e. the soundtrack is also printed on the image track colored and sometimes doubled our quadrupled just to make things less repetitive. It was interesting when Top Gear reviewed it, because it's BBC, they effectively have no sponsors to upset, because it's a Public Broadcaster; so they could just be brutally honest about the car, as they always are, despite present bias - in turn revealing the epic bullshit.

I've seen this car in real, as I visited the McLaren dealer in London, I was in London with my brother to go watch the Races that also took place in London. Too bad though that it was not allowed to have a seat in the McLaren F1, but it was so beautiful, pictures only tell half the story. :) This car is my all time favourite, the only car that comes a bit close to this one may be the Koenigsegg CC8S, but as far I know, that one doesn't come close in quality. McLaren F1 for the win, nuff said.
